FAQ
The questions we hear most.
Don't see yours? Reach out and we'll answer in plain English.
- Do you bring backup equipment?
- Yes. Every event includes backup sound equipment, and we bring a backup power supply for outdoor events when needed. The point is that nothing on the technical side becomes your problem.
- Will you take song requests from our guests?
- Yes — within the boundaries you set. We honor your must-play and do-not-play lists, and we use guest requests to read the room and keep the energy going.
- Do you provide MC services?
- Yes. Kristy MCs every event personally. That covers introductions, toasts, special dances, run-of-show announcements, and any custom moments you want highlighted.
- How early do you arrive to set up?
- Typically 60 to 90 minutes before the event starts, depending on the venue and the complexity of the setup. We confirm timing during the planning calls.
- What is your service area?
- We are based in Rocklin and serve the greater Sacramento area — including Roseville, Loomis, Lincoln, Granite Bay, Fair Oaks, Sacramento, West Sacramento, Elk Grove, Citrus Heights, Orangevale, Antelope, Davis, and Woodland. We travel up to about 50 miles included, and further on request.
- How does the deposit work?
- A signed contract and deposit secure your date. The balance is due before the event. We talk through the exact numbers when we send your quote.
- What happens if it rains for an outdoor event?
- We work with you and your venue on a weather plan well before the day. Backup power, covered staging, and a fallback timeline are all part of the conversation if rain is a possibility.
- Do you sub-contract to other DJs?
- Never. When you book DJ Maile Entertainment, Kristy is the DJ at your event. Her husband works as an assistant, and on occasion their adult sons help with setup. No strangers.
- Can you handle a multicultural or bilingual event?
- Yes. We regularly DJ quinceañeras, debuts, and weddings that span multiple cultures and languages. We work with you on song selection and on-mic moments that respect the tradition.
- How far in advance should we book?
- For weddings, 6 to 12 months out is typical. For other events, anywhere from a few weeks to several months. The sooner you reach out, the better the odds your date is open.
